Looking for the instructions to guide you through the book and sample programs? You need the Unit Guide for Chapter 6.

Program List for Chapter 6

Choose one from #1-3 (use of at least one function and/or sub is required)

  1. Add Coins (Exercise 2 on page 193)
  2. Reduce Fraction (Exercise 3 on page 194)
  3. Metric Conversion (Exercise 6 on page 195)
    If there are other conversions you'd rather perform, that's OK as long as there are 4 of them (which actually gives you 8).

Choose one from #4-12 (use of at least one function and/or sub is required)

  1. Lumberyard Helper (Exercise 8 on page 196)
    The book provides an example of the formula, but isn't too clear about what the formula is. Try this...
    Board Feet = ( ( T * ( L * 12 ) * W ) / ( 12 * 12 * 1 ) )
    T = thickness (in inches)
    L = length (in feet)
    W = width (in inches)
  2. Hi-Lo Game (Exercise 9 on page 197)
  3. Dice Game (Exercise 10 on page 197)
    Here are six-sided die images you can use for this program
  4. Nim (Exercise 12 on page 198)
  5. Mastermind (Exercise 13 on page 199)
  6. Funny Sentences (Exercise 14 on page 200)
  7. Arithmetic Drill (Exercise 15 on page 200)
    If you would like to assign different point values or allow more/less guesses (must allow at least two guesses), that's OK. You could always have a Help menu item that displays a MessageBox with details about the rules.
  8. Pet Adoption (Exercise 16 on page 200)
  9. Card Game (Exercise 17 on page 201)
    Here are fifty-two card images you can use for this program
